Event Design incorporates all the elements of an event from sound & lighting to catering and entertainment and your job is to take all these pieces and create something visually stunning out of nothing. Diploma in Wedding and Event Planning - $2145.00 + GST

For those that love the thrill of organising a product launch but also have the special skills involved in planning a more personal event such as a wedding then this Diploma will allow you to combine both skills. Upon completion you will be a Certified Wedding and Event Consultant.

Diploma in Event Planning and Design - $2450.00 + GST

For those that prefer the structure of a corporate event this course will combine planning with design and afford you the best of both worlds without the emotion involved in weddings. Learn about lighting, production, linen, centrepiece design and the rules of planning large scale events. Upon completion you will be a Certified Event Planner and Designer.

Diploma in Wedding Planning, Styling and Design - $2400.00 + GST

Are you a creative genius with penchant for planning? If so this course will show you how to understand colour, design from a blank canvass whilst also honing your planning skills to produce and create weddings that are both stylish and planned to perfection. Upon completion you will be a Certified Wedding Planner and Designer.

Adv Dip in Special Event Planning and Wedding Design - $3300.00 + GST

If all of the above elements appeal to you then this is your chance to combine all the skills in one course. Enjoy the intricate details of weddings and events and learn how to style, design and plan. Upon completion you will be a Certified Master Special Event Planner and Designer.

Our courses are accredited with the Australian Bridal Service and endorsed by the Association for Wedding Professionals International and we offer nationally accredited units through partnering arrangements with the registered training organization, Quality Training Solutions NTIS ID 31622 - become an accredited planner, stylist or designer with the Academy.

The Academy is nationally and internationally recognised as a professional Wedding and Event training organisation. All students who successfully complete a Certificate or Diploma course with the Academy will become ‘Accredited’ by the Academy in their area of study.  As an ‘Accredited’ member of the Academy you will be given a Certificate or Diploma and an accreditation logo that you can use to demonstrate your own professionalism to prospective employers and clients.  Our industry recognition and memberships with organisations such as ISES make this accreditation meaningful.

Nationally Recognised Units:

The Academy of Wedding and Event Planning has partnered with Quality Training Solutions who are a Registered Training Organization NTIS ID 31622. There are currently no government accredited training courses available for wedding planners, wedding stylists or event designers here in Australia. Our partnership with QTS will now allow us to offer students the opportunity to get a Statement of Attainment from the Certificate IV in Small Business Management for the following 3 Units of Competency:

1. Address Customer Needs BSBCUS402A
2. Undertake small business planning BSBSMB404A
3. Market the small business BSBSMB403A

The nationally recognized units are provided through partnering arrangements with the registered training organization, Quality Training Solutions NTIS ID 31622.

The Academy itself also recognizes the importance of demonstrating to YOU our own standards of excellence and professionalism.  In the absence of any formal industry body (wedding or events) through which any of us working within the industry can be recognised or accredited through, the Academy has sought membership, recognition and accreditation through the following professional industry and education bodies.

• LERN (Learning Resources Network) LERN is an international association of lifelong learning programming, offering information and resources to providers of lifelong learning programs.

The Academy also recognises the importance of formal accreditation in addition to its professional memberships and recognitions and since our recent launch in the United States we are awaiting formal Accreditation by:

• ACPET (Australian Council for Private Eduation and Training)
• DETC (Distance Education and Training Council)

The Academy is also active within the industry and you will find us at important events such as The Special Event Show which takes place annually and will next be held in Phoenix in Jan, 2011

The tutorial team at the Academy are all working professionals within the wedding and event industry and have a wealth of information and knowledge to impart to their students. Although the course material is important about 50% of the value of our courses lies within the expertise of our tutors and the guidance they give to the students they work with.

The thing to remember with studying any course is that you can read, listen and watch as much information as you want, but you need to know how to apply what you have learnt to a wedding or event brief. The Tutors are invaluable as they are there to answer your questions and help you with any area of your study that you need assistance with.

You will always receive detailed feedback on your assignments highlighting what you have done well and what you have missed. More often than not the Tutor will also give you an example of how they would approach the assignment, especially at the start of the course when you are still finding your feet. Your tutor feedback is very important as you will need to apply it to your next assignment and this is how your marks will keep improving through the course.

On top of this with access to our Social Centre you will be able communicate with tutors through our online forums which is where you will find answers to many of your questions. The fun part is that through these forums you will also have access to all the other tutors at the Academy, as well as your own.

The Academy’s team of tutors are based around the world and all work virtually allowing our students to benefit from a wider knowledge base. All tutors have worked within their own businesses in the special events industry for a minimum of 5 years, and as a condition of employment must successfully complete any of the courses they tutor with a distinction.

We have two specialist tutors who manage our tutor team, Sasha Livingstone who leads the team of Wedding and Event Planning tutors and Miranda Williams who leads the team of Styling and Design tutors. Both have extensive experience in their fields and have worked with Kylie for many years.

Sasha’s passion is planning and she enjoys the mental challenges that present themselves when coordinating large-scale events. Her forte is event budgeting and her expertise are renowned in the industry for being able to produce spectacular events on some very small budgets.

Miranda has an eye for colour and her passion is creating event inspiration boards for her clients. She has a portfolio full of ideas to share with her students to help them in their studies. Her forte is theme creation and her ability to pull together all the elements of an event with style and panache is enviable.

Between them Sasha and Miranda work with a team of 10 tutors but are always on the look out for more talent. Training is provided so it is not essential to know our current curriculum. What we are looking for is the ability to share your own working experience with our students to help them apply what they learn in a practical way.

We offer a range of payment options for our students and try to allow for as much flexibility as possible. If you don't see an option that suits you please contact one of our Course Consultants on 1300 854200 as may be able to put together an individualized plan for you.

Below is a list of our standard payment options:

Credit/Debit Card Online: We accept Mastercard and Visa through our secure server online here at the Academy site. All you have to do is select the Enrol Now button and this will take you through to our Online Payment Section where you will be asked to complete an enrolment form and select your preferred course. You will then be asked to select a a method of payment and this is where you will choose Credit Card. You can also select to pay in full or use one of our payment plans.

Phone: You can enrol over the phone at any time with one of our Course Consultants on 1300 854200 who can take all your details and process your credit or debit card.

BPAY: This is a bill paying service that allows you to pay most of your bills over the telephone or by banking online. You can simply download an Enrolment Form and tick the BPAY box and the Academy will issue you with a BPAY invoice. Alternatively you can speak to one of our Course Consultants on 1300 854200 and they will take your enrolment details over the phone and email your invoice through to you. You will need to allow 3 working days for the payment to clear when using this method.

Paypal: This is a great alternative to using our Online Payment system. You can use Paypal to pay either using your bank account or creadit or debit card. All you have to do is select the Enrol Now button and this will take you through to our Online Payment Section where you will be asked to complete an enrolment form and select your preferred course. You will then be asked to select a a method of payment and this is where you will choose Paypal. You can also select to pay in full or use one of our payment plans.

Direct Debit: This is an alternative method to filling out your details online for subscription based enrolments. Simply fill and submit your signed enrolment form that authorises the Academy to debit your account on the dates nominated by yourself. This form can be posted or emailed through to our admin office. Direct Deposit: Use the direct deposit method if you are wishing to pay for your course in full and would prefer to pay using your own methods (internet banking or by visiting your local bank branch etc.) You can simply download an Enrolment Form and tick the Direct Deposit Box and either email or post your the enrolment form into our office.
