Power Workshop
Join us for an Event Design One Day Power Workshop in Brisbane, Melbourne & Sydney. You know how to plan an event - we will show you how to design and style one. This workshop is suitable for anyone wishing to master the art of styling and design for special events. It caters for those wishing to work in weddings, corporate events, private parties and product launches.

Styling and designing an event is very similar to set dressing. It brings all the elements of the design to life exploring your creative side, but also requiring a certain amount of technical knowledge. This one day power workshop will help you to discover unique and innovative ways to design and transform environments for all types of venues and budgets. Lots of hands-on creativity, conceptulisation, tips and tricks will help you on the way to producing professionally styled events. Learn how to add those special touches to your event such as: distinctive table centrepieces, fabric decor, ambient lighting and special effects.
The workshop will include:
- The Razzle Dazzle of Event Design – what’s hot and what’s not. One of the most used tools we have at our disposal is colour. We will look at what is ‘coming’ in terms of colour trends and inspiration
- From Concept to Completion – exploring the creative brain storming process that leads to unique events. We will discuss the way we can use design techniques to maximize the way we look at creating any special event.
- The Fizz Factor – using catering as a decorative theme element within your design is a great feature. This section covers emerging and trendsetting pieces in catering for the 2nd part of 2010
- Design and Your Venue – understanding room configurations and the requirements of a venue that may impact on your design
- Lights, Camera, Action! - Dollar for dollar, lighting adds more impact to your décor than any other single element. Learn how to bring your design to life and highlight and accentuate all the nuances
- Fabulous Fabric – learn how to dress a table and create a Tablescape with a linen expert. We will learn how to use fabric in event design across an event space and look at working with off the shelf rental products that make a great statement with cost effective results.
- Styling and Decor Techniques - creating memorable events unique elements while establishing and staying within budget. This session will look at different cultures, historical time periods, fashion and interior design by combining new and easily attainable decor elements.
- The Floral WOW Factor – explores possibilities and contrast to inject some tension through unexpected flower/container/accessories combinations. Add some high drama into the floral side of your event work and expand your knowledge of flower seasons and the mechanics of floral design.
- Centrepiece by Design – a simple recipe for creating your own centrepiece using the pieces available to you from your design box (provided as part of the workshop). This session will be led by leading industry expert Denise Fouracre founder of The Wedding Zone and Teneille Beadman of Ezy Events
- Q & A - We will view and discuss real-world events and how the Event Design successfully achieved the client’s goal.
